Regina Hall’s Epic Roast of Kevin Costner’s Golden Globes No-Show!

At the 2023 Golden Globe Awards, Kevin Costner won the Best Actor award for his role in Yellowstone. However, presenter Regina Hall couldn’t pass up the opportunity to jokingly roast him due to his inability to attend the ceremony due to California’s floods. Costner shared a video on Instagram explaining why he and his wife were stranded in Santa Barbara. 

The red carpet of the 80th annual awards show still saw a myriad of stars showing off their style. 

We were very disheartened that Kevin Costner and his wife Christine Baumgartner had to take their kids out of school due to the unfortunate circumstances of not being able to attend the Golden Globes. When the award for Best Actor in a Drama Series was announced and presenter Leslie Jones started to read the Teleprompter, she began laughing and rolling her eyes at what was written, “He so much wanted to be -” which made the audience laugh as well.

Due to the extreme weather conditions and flooding, Kevin is unable to leave Santa Barbara, which made Tiffany Haddish (Girls Trip star) smacking her forehead and saying “Jesus” as the audience cheered. She added, “No, this is a sad story right now. Let’s pray everyone. Everyone, we do, we pray and we hope everyone affected by these storms remains safe. I’m gonna set that award right there, on your behalf, Kevin.”

In his Instagram video, Costner revealed that he and Baumgartner planned to celebrate their win at home with some gold, yellow, black, and silver balloons. He also apologized for not being able to attend the ceremony and expressed hope that they would be invited back. “I’m really sorry to the Golden Globes and the international press,” Costner said. “I hope we’re invited back. Thanks.”The actor’s third Golden Globe win and sixth nomination is a testament to his success in film, having already won best actor for Hatfields & McCoys in 2013 and best director for Dances With Wolves in 1990.
