She shared an update after revealing she’s taking vocal rest.

She took to social media to share updates on her health: “Sadly, I have to take a pause and postpone my Vegas residency,” she wrote. “I fell ill towards the end of the last leg and throughout my break. I hadn’t fully recovered before the shows resumed, and now I’m unwell again, and unfortunately, it’s affecting my voice.

The remaining 5 weekends of this leg are being postponed to a later date. We are already working out the details, and you will be informed as soon as possible.” She will resume her “Weekends with Adele” residency on May 18, with nine additional shows scheduled through its conclusion in mid-June.

At her recent show, she openly addressed the audience about her vocal condition. “Last night, in the middle of the night – I’m sure you can hear it in my talking voice and my singing voice a little bit. Your girl was tired. I didn’t sleep very well,” she shared during her performance over the weekend of February 24, 2024, via Daily Mail. “And Ursula from the ocean has come from my chest tonight. I can’t hit my high notes properly. I didn’t sleep very well, and my chest is on fire. I can tell I’m going to have a coffee in like 10 days, but I’m still here.”

So I’m going to be in bed, coughing my guts up, on complete voice rest,” she shared. Her family is supportive, although she humorously acknowledged they might disrupt her plans. “And not only is my partner an absolute chatterbox, so is my son. So I am going to have to lock myself in a cupboard or something like that.”

Due to the necessity of bed rest, she had to cancel her usual plans. “I had made solid plans with my gay friends; they were going to come over to my house. We were going to light a fire, maybe have a spritzer, which obviously now I can’t have – dammit. And we were going to sit down and watch the new JLo movie, which I’ve been so excited about. But they made other plans. They already have plans. And they have left me on read.”

Adele’s vocal cords had garnered attention more than a decade ago. In 2011, she underwent surgery for recurrent hemorrhaging caused by a benign polyp on her vocal cord.
