In a dramatic turn of events on the February 26 episode of The Bold and the Beautiful, Steffy Forrester delivered a fatal blow to her notorious mother-in-law, Sheila Carter, effectively marking the end of Kimberlin Brown’s latest stint portraying the soap’s infamous antagonist.
“It’s a challenging situation for me right now; I won’t deny that,” the actress candidly shares with TV Insider. However, she adds, “I suppose if anyone were to bring Sheila down, I’m glad it’s Steffy.” After all, Sheila met her demise while confronting her nemesis, Steffy, at her residence.
Despite the circumstances, Brown admits that bidding farewell to Sheila isn’t easy. “I simply wish no one had to take Sheila down,” she reflects. “The show has been my sanctuary, where I’ve been incredibly fortunate to be for over 35 years. But I’ve had a remarkable journey, so I consider myself one of the fortunate ones.”
Brown originally portrayed the iconic character on the sister soap The Young and the Restless, where Sheila’s myriad misdeeds led her to feign her own death and transition to The Bold and the Beautiful. Throughout her tumultuous history on both shows — from stealing men to kidnapping babies — Sheila’s reign of terror has been punctuated by periodic exits and returns, with Brown seamlessly moving between the two daytime dramas.
While Sheila has seemingly met her demise on multiple occasions, including a rumored encounter with a bear, the resilience of soap opera storytelling has always ensured her eventual resurrection. Between her appearances on The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful, Brown has also graced other daytime dramas such as All My Children, General Hospital, Port Charles, and One Life to Live.
