Fendi’s Autumn/Winter 2024-25 collection in Milan unfolded like a story of exquisite harmony between the tranquility of highland landscapes and the vibrancy of urban life.
Under the skilled hands and creative mind of Artistic Director Silvia Venturini Fendi, the collection emerged as a harmonious blend of practicality and Romanesque elegance, resembling a contemporary men’s fashion wardrobe where one could choose attire based on both function and luxury.
As an embodiment of FENDI’s creative spirit, the collection cleverly fused utilitarian functionality with a touch of Italian opulence. From stylish coats to meticulously tailored suits, all showcased the dual nature of outerwear, combining practicality for everyday use with the refined extravagance of Milanese fashion.
Venturini Fendi’s creativity shone through the traditional shapes of Roman aristocracy, combined with elements of nature and modern urban landscapes, challenging conventional fashion norms. This time, Fendi’s runway was designed in the shape of an “F” hall in Milan, like a “Fresh” button upgrading classic styles with the essence of modern urbanity, creating a creative masterpiece titled “Town and Country.”
Venturini Fendi introduced an unexpected element to the collection by combining dresses and shorts in men’s outfits, breaking away from traditional “gender” norms in fashion. The concept of men wearing dresses should become normalized rather than a fashion statement, at least on the runway.
Venturini Fendi referred to the outerwear designs of the collection as “generous,” featuring raglan shoulders, flat leather tab buttons, and Selleria collars. Fisherman’s jackets and waterproof waxed jackets utilized the famous “FF” canvas material. Meanwhile, denim and mohair fabrics were cut and woven to create a “fur” layer resembling a turtle’s shell, embellishing many designs in the collection.
In addition to unique combinations of pants and dresses, Fendi also captivated attention with accessories. The Siesta bag, Melon Hobo, and the comeback of classics like Peekaboo ISeeU Soft showcased the brand’s commitment to innovative design. Platform shoes and leather Wellington boots perfectly complemented the outfits in this collection.
Venturini Fendi’s meticulousness was also evident in the color palette, painting a winter highland scene with earth tones and contrasting bright hues. The final highlight was the collaboration between Fendi and MAD Architects, introducing futuristic elements to the collection, emphasizing the harmonious relationship between humans and nature. The addition of the FENDI x DEVIALET Mania portable speaker not only demonstrated Fendi’s commitment to a forward-thinking fashion empire but also showcased the seamless intersection of art, fashion, and technology.
The Fall/Winter 2024-25 collection for men by Fendi is a testament to the sustainable development capabilities of a long-standing brand. Silvia Venturini Fendi’s creative vision, combined with keen material and color usage, is a powerful weapon that solidifies Fendi’s position as a leading men’s fashion brand and a global fashion trendsetter.
